New Company Setup – Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 – Contact the Credential Center

Email the Credential Center to request information and instructions for setting up a new company:

Step 2 – Complete Required Company Documents

Submit all required company setup documents as instructed by the Credential Center. In some cases, this includes completing and submitting the Company Agreement.

Step 3 – Complete Badge Applications

Once your documents have been received, company representatives will receive an email from the badging system to complete badge applications and electronic forms.

Step 4 – Appointment Scheduling

After badge applications are complete, the Credential Center will schedule an appointment for two company representatives to apply for SIDA badges and finalize the company setup. Representatives will receive appointment confirmation by email.

Step 5 – Attend Your Scheduled Appointment

Two company representatives must attend together. Please bring:

  • Valid photo ID or driver’s license
  • Work authorization document (passport, birth certificate, etc.)

List of Acceptable Documents. Note: If you are a U.S. citizen born outside the United States, please bring your Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship to help expedite background checks.

Step 6 – Background Check and Required Training

When your background check clears, you will receive an email from the badging system. After receiving it:

  • Return to the Credential Center
  • Check in with the receptionist
  • Complete the required training (walk-in only; no appointment needed)
  • Bring your photo ID or driver’s license

Training typically takes 2–3 hours. Once completed and passed, you will receive your Airport ID badge.

Fees

New company setup fees are listed in our Tarriff under the Schedule of Identification and Access Control Badge Charges.
 

Charges are billed. No cards or checks are accepted.

Representatives will be processed as both Authorized Signers and badge holders.


Bonding with Customs (if applicable) If your operations require a Customs Seal, you must contact Customs directly for information.


Authorized Signer Roles and Responsibilities

Overview

Authorized Signers play a critical role in maintaining airport security and must comply with CFR 1542.209. Each company is required to maintain at least two Authorized Signers, and all Authorized Signers must hold an active Airport ID badge.

Authorized Signer Duties
  • Verify individuals applying for badges work for the company and have a business need
  • Submit and renew badge applications through the Authorized Signer Portal
  • Ensure accurate employee information and verify work authorization documents
  • Communicate badge responsibilities and requirements to employees
  • Immediately deactivate badges for separations, lost, or stolen badges
  • Ensure deactivated badges are returned to the Credential Center
  • $350 non-returned badge fee applies if a badge is not returned within 30 days
  • Maintain accurate badge counts and act as the primary contact during audits
  • Maintain updated company contact information
  • Notify the Credential Center of Authorized Signer status changes
  • Keep a current Company Agreement on file
